The Personal Testimonies of the Tutton Family

Tim:

I grew up in a Christian family and attended a small rural independent Baptist church located in Western New York state. I prayed a prayer for salvation when I was about 6 years old but didn't really understand about salvation at that time. When I was 14, after hearing a pastor preach on Hell, I put my trust for salvation on the Lord Jesus Christ.

During a revival service, when Bob Schuler gave his testimony, at Boulevard Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, during my freshman year at Bob Jones University, God called me to preach the Gospel. I have been in fulltime ministry for the Lord since 1974, serving in Christian schools, doing child evangelism, teaching children’s classes in colleges and church seminars, and serving as administrator of youth outreach programs.

Margaret:

My parents were Christians and always took us to church. Although we didn't attend a strong Bible-teaching church, I did hear the Gospel. We went to a lot of revivals, tent meetings, and listened to preachers on the radio. One night after I had gone to bed, I heard my sister crying as she and my mother washed the dishes. I got out of bed and asked my mother why my sister was crying. She told me my sister had gotten saved while listening to a preacher on the radio. I went back to bed but before I got in, I knelt down to pray. I knew I was a sinner and that Jesus died to pay for my sin. I asked Him to forgive my sin and I received Him as my Savior.

The Lord burdened my heart for missions when I was child. After high school, He made it possible for me to attend Bob Jones University. It was there that I first had good Bible teaching. I learned how to be a soulwinner. Missions was emphasized and taught and I surrendered my life to Him. I felt a burden to work with children and during this time I met Tim. We have, since our marriage, worked with children in a variety of ministries.

Timothy:

I was saved when I was four years old. I had gotten in some trouble in our neighborhood and my mother was talking to me about it, when I told her I needed to be saved. She explained the Gospel to me again and I received Jesus as my Savior that day.

I love to work with children, especially preschool kids and I help our Kid's Club program this summer. I have had the opportunity to lead several of my friends from public school to the Lord. I like to give out tracts and know that is important to do.
