Daniel Clement's Testimony
I grew up in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the biggest town in 100 miles in any direction. It has a population of roughly 36,000 people and 40,000 cornfields. My mom and dad met in college, got married, and started planting churches. They traveled all thoughout the east cost (where my dad grew up) planting churches until my Grandpa asked my dad to be the youth pastor of the church in Scottsbluff (the town where my mom grew up). Well one thing led to another and now my dad has been the pastor of the same church for as long as I can remember.
Now that you know a little bit of the background of how I came to Nebraska, let me tell you about the family. First there is Ruth, the oldest, and now married and a happy mother of 3 daughters.
When I was younger she did not really care what we did when mom and dad were gone just so long as we did not make her put down her book.
After Ruth there is Mike also married and a happy father of one daughter. Before that he taught me how to endure through extreme pain and suffering. You see, he thought it was the coolest thing tie all of use younger ones up and see how long it took us to get untied. After we got good at that he made it even more exciting bye tying us to the fence and then turning on the sprinklers. Needless to say if Houdini was alive I think I could have taken him on.
Moving right along, Sarah now moved out and works at a lumberyard in Scottsbluff. This is the sister that has always had a special love in her heart for older people and animals.
David now married and soon to be a happy father of one. (We are all hoping for a boy.) The biggest of all the boys so far and also the one that taught me that is not a bad thing to run away from a man that is twice your size.
Now we come to me, the 5th and probably the smallest of boys. I am now serving the Lord here at Baptist Youth Mission but it was not always so.
I got saved at the age of 6 or 7, I am not to sure. I do know I was sitting at the dining room table looking out the window and not knowing if I was saved; so I bowed my head and asked the Lord to save me.
A few years later, when I was fourteen, I went to Child Evangelism Fellowship for their training on back yard Bible schools. When I got home, a few of my Church friends and I did a total of 10 Bible schools. At fifteen I went to work for B.Y.M. (in the summer) as an E.I.T. I worked for them for the next 5 summers.
When I was 18, I moved to Oak Brook, IlL and worked at I.B.L.P. (Institute In Basic Life Principles) for three years. All but one of the summers I drove back and worked for BYM. Not knowing for whom I should work full time, I started praying about it and God answered my prayer at the end of three months. Which it a very exciting story containing 5 tickets, 4 cars, a plain ride, my best friend getting engaged, and a funeral. I would love to tell you more about it if you e-mail me at clement202000@yahoo.com, but, the long and short of it is, I am now full time staff for BYM.
The sixth child is Mary. She quit possibly will take after me and be the smallest of the girls. Mary is now sixteen, driving, and proud owner of an 86 Mustang, which is a nicer car than I started with. Not that I am bitter or anything.
Anyway, seventh is Stephen the last of the boys and only boy left at home.
Eighth is Rebekah, the best reader of us all.
Ninth is Esther, the only red head of us all.
Tenth and lastly is Rachel, who is the boldest of all the girls.
Now that you know all about my family why don’t you let me know who you are. You can E-mail me at Clement202000@yahoo.com or snail mail me at PO Box 4, Sinclair, WY 82334.
