Reconstruction Description

The front sidewalk and curbs of our new National Headquarters and Training Center were in desperate condition. There were dips and rises that were unsafe and holes so big that we had fill them with gravel. Most of the sidewalk was 80 years old and looked it! Since we first laid eyes on the building, we have known it needed replacing. However, at 300 feet long it comes out to nearly 5,000 square feet of concrete, and we knew it would be a long time before it happened! Well, God is good. Guess what? The sidewalk is being replaced by the State of Wyoming because we are on a state highway. We praise God for this situation. Thank you Lord, and thank you Wyoming taxpayers. There is however, a catch-

The state will only cut out the old sidewalk within about one foot of our building for liability reasons. We must remove the rest. Additionally, we need to redo the footers on the east end of the maintenance shop area that lies under the sidewalk. Renting the equipment and paying for the footer concrete is going cost us about $2,700. By the State's schedule, this was planned to happen in the summer of 2006. Well surprise, surprise! Guess what happened the day after Mother's Day? That's right! The State is ahead of schedule and the will began demolition of the old sidewalks on Monday, May 9th. We have only two weeks to remove our part and prepare for the new sidewalks and curbs. We really have two needs. First, if anyone wants to come up and get a little exercise, we'd love to have you come. A few churches have already made plans to come. The other need is for the finances. We need to pay for our part of the project and we have no money saved up. The main cost is the $2,700 for the equipment, concrete, forms, rebar, drain lines and associated electrical needs. If we could get an additional $1,900, we could add some much needed concrete at the same time to our shop area. Our total need is then about $4,600 which we need by the first of June.

From time to time churches and individuals often give special offerings or have special mission funds to help with projects like these. We would be so honored if you would please consider helping us in this urgent matter.
